The easiest way to add sophistication to room decor is to install a hardwood floor
Hardwood flooring comes in two options, “unfinished” and “pre-finished” hardwood and can be constructed using engineered or solid wood. You can find the hardwood flooring that is perfect for your home at Designer’s Magic Carpet and Flooring in San Clemente, California.
Unfinished Hardwood - Traditional unfinished solid hardwood is the best option for large renovations and new construction. It takes up to one week to complete the installation process and one week for acclimation. You may also prefer to have boards sanded, stained, and sealed in your home. These treatments provide your floor with a flush look that is well-sealed, and can be necessary for uncommon wood species and stains not available in pre-finished brands.
Pre-finished Hardwood - Like unfinished solid hardwood, pre-finished brands are nailed to a wood subfloor. Since boards are finished in the factory, installation takes one day, and the floor can be used immediately after it is installed. Pre-finished wood floors have a beveled look. Sealers applied in the factory tend to be higher in quality than those available to on-site installers so finish warranties for pre-finished brands are usually longer. Solid hardwood floors will last as long as you own your home. If they become worn, they can be refinished so they look new again.

Engineered vs. Solid Wood - Wood flooring comes in two basic types: solid wood and engineered wood. Instead of being milled from one piece of wood, engineered flooring is composed of layers of high-quality plywood bonded to a top layer of hardwood. This floor covering is usually installed as a floating floor. Planks connect in tongue and groove fashion so the floor rests above the subfloor rather than being attached to it. The flooring can be installed over wood, concrete, existing flooring, and radiant heat. Engineered wood has a lifespan of 30 years or more.
